Welcome to Pamdor website Even as travelers streak from place to place in jets, many are drawn back to the days of journeys by sailing ship, of crashing storms and even mutinies. On the island of Mauritius, about 530 miles east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, this fascination is created and sated by the island’s popular craft of building model ships.
Keeping this in mind we offer you wooden ship models carved in teak, teak doesn’t weather in colder Climates. A glass case is usually good for preserving the models. For models left uncovered, a hair dryer is the safest duster.
All are beautiful decorative pieces, many are museum quality. Most people like wooden model sailing ships of the Great Age of Sail. That’s what we offer. Our pieces are finely worked fascinating models of boats and tall ship model for display at your home, or at your hotel; your restaurant, your office, your business association. Our hand crafted wooden ships make fine nautical gifts.
The crowning touch is the figures on the prow, like the seahorse on the Soleil Royal, the original of which was built in 1669 for Louis XIV’s navy. The original brass trimmings are simulated by white thread dipped in gold paint. The old canvas sails are made of cotton that is soaked in tea.
Unavailable or special requested designs normally take one month to make and deliver to most places
